INSIDE THIS REVELATION:

What if the choice between the Tree of Knowledge and the Tree of Life isn’t just ancient history — but the exact same choice you face in how you live your faith right now?

The tree of the knowledge of good and evil brought condemnation and guilt into human experience. Man was subjected to a life of choosing between right and wrong, forever measuring his standing before God by his performance.

Jesus restored us to the Tree of Life. And the Tree of Life doesn’t deal in right and wrong — it deals in life and death. The question is no longer “did I do good today?” but “am I living from the Source of all life?”

What Was the Tree of Knowledge — and What Has It Produced in Human Experience?

The tree of the knowledge of good and evil was not evil in itself — it was a boundary. God knew that eating from it would shift man’s consciousness from union with God to self-evaluation based on moral performance. It would create a divided consciousness — always assessing, always judging, always comparing.

The fruit of that tree is still being eaten today — every time a believer measures their standing before God by their recent behaviour, every time guilt replaces grace, every time religion substitutes a code of conduct for a living relationship. The fall didn’t just happen in a garden. It continues whenever we default to performance-based spirituality.

What Is the Tree of Life — and What Does It Offer to Those Who Eat from It?

The Tree of Life represents direct access to God as the Source of all life. It is not about moral performance — it is about vital connection. When you eat from the Tree of Life, you receive life, wisdom, and sustenance directly from the Father. No intermediary of moral achievement required.

Jesus is the Tree of Life incarnate. “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). He doesn’t just show you a way to life — He IS the life. To eat from the Tree of Life is to receive Christ, to abide in Him, and to draw your entire existence from His inexhaustible life.

How Did Jesus Restore Our Access to the Tree of Life?

At the Fall, God drove man from the garden and placed cherubim to guard the Tree of Life (Genesis 3:24). This was mercy — fallen man could not be allowed to eat from the Tree of Life and be locked in eternal separation from God.

Jesus’ death and resurrection cleared the way back to the Tree of Life by dealing with the fundamental problem: the sin nature that separated man from God. “Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes” (Romans 10:4). When you believe, the barrier is removed. You have unrestricted access to life, to the Father, to everything the Tree of Life represents.

What Is the Difference Between Living “From the Law” and Living “From Life”?

Living from the law means your consciousness is dominated by a system of right and wrong. Every day is an evaluation — did I pass or fail today? This produces guilt, condemnation, and the constant anxiety of spiritual performance.

Living from the Tree of Life means your consciousness is dominated by union with the Father. Your starting point is love, not law. Righteousness is not a standard you achieve — it is your nature in Christ. You don’t avoid sin because you fear punishment; you live in holiness because His life within you naturally produces it.

How Do You Practically “Eat from the Tree of Life” in Your Daily Life?

Eating from the Tree of Life is a metaphor for receiving Christ — His wisdom, His peace, His love — as the sustenance for every situation. It means going to Him first, not to your own reasoning or moral checklist.

    • When facing a decision, don’t ask “what is the right thing to do?” first — ask “Father, what are You saying?”
    • When you fail, don’t reach for the tree of knowledge (guilt and condemnation) — eat from the tree of life (grace and restoration).
    • Meditate on the truth that you are righteous in Christ — not performing for it, but resting in it.
    • Let every prayer, every act of worship, every moment of surrender be an act of eating from the Tree of Life.
