What if Holy Communion isn’t just a memorial ritual — but a living encounter with the body and blood of Jesus that releases healing, life, and oneness right now?
“My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.” — John 6:55-56
Most believers participate in communion as a solemn remembrance. And while remembrance is honoured, Jesus spoke of this meal as something far more alive — a spiritual reality that places you in permanent union with Him, and releases the full power of His resurrection life into your body, soul, and spirit.
Communion is not just a symbol. It is a vehicle of encounter.
Jesus wasn’t speaking metaphorically to confuse — He was revealing the nature of spiritual nourishment. Physical food sustains the body; His body, broken for us, sustains the whole person — spirit, soul, and body. His body was broken and bruised for our perfect physical health. Not after we pass from this world. Today.
When you receive communion with revelation — knowing that His broken body carries the finished work of healing — you are aligning with what was already accomplished. “By His stripes you were healed” (1 Peter 2:24) is not a promise to claim — it’s a reality to receive.
Jesus said: “He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him.” Abiding isn’t a spiritual discipline you maintain through effort — it’s the natural state of one who feeds on Christ. Communion is both symbol and spiritual act of the abiding life.
Every time you take communion with understanding, you are saying: I draw my life from Christ. I don’t sustain myself. I am fed by the eternal life that flows from Him. This posture of receiving rather than performing is the essence of abiding.
The blood of Jesus speaks better things than the blood of Abel (Hebrews 12:24). Abel’s blood cried for vengeance; Jesus’ blood cries for redemption. In communion, His blood releases forgiveness, cleansing, righteousness, and access to the Father.
Medically, blood carries life. Spiritually, the blood of Jesus carries the very life of God. When you drink in faith, you are receiving into yourself the divine life that overcomes death, disease, guilt, and condemnation. It is an act of radical spiritual inheritance.
Discernment is everything. Paul warned that taking communion “unworthily” — without discerning the Lord’s body — results in weakness and illness (1 Corinthians 11:29). This isn’t about being good enough — it’s about receiving with revelation. You are always worthy in Christ. But are you aware of what you’re receiving?
Approach communion expectantly. Come to the table with consciousness: “I am receiving the life of Christ into my spirit, soul, and body. His body heals me. His blood cleanses me. I abide in Him as I receive.” Let it be a living act, not a ritual.
Jesus said “as often as you drink it, do this in remembrance of Me” (1 Corinthians 11:25). He didn’t prescribe a frequency — He gave permission. Many believers take communion daily as a personal spiritual practice, especially those walking through seasons of healing, testing, or spiritual breakthrough.
This is the heart of what Living From Eternity unpacks.
