The Greatest Lie Ever Told: You’re Not Separated From God

There is a lie that has been told to believers for generations. And most of us, especially inside church circles, have accepted it without question.

The lie is not that you are not good enough. It is not that God is angry with you. The lie is this: that you are separated from God. If you have ever felt that God is distant, far off, or somewhere out there waiting for you to reach Him, this revelation is for you.

What is the greatest lie ever told to believers?

Most believers live as if they are trying to get back to God. They pray harder, serve more, push through seasons of disconnection. Subconsciously, it is all about feeling connected and feeling approved.

But no matter what they do, the gap remains. Because deep down, they are working from the premise that they need to close the distance between themselves and God. That premise is the lie. There is no distance to close.

What does “one spirit with Him” actually mean?

1 Corinthians 6:17 says, “He that is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.” Not near. Not close. One. This is not a poetic description of relationship. This is a declaration of union.

The moment you received Christ, you were joined to Him at the level of spirit. You are not two separate beings trying to get closer. You are already one. That union is your present reality, not something you are working toward.

Why is Jesus’ prayer in John 17 already answered for you?

In John 17:23, Jesus prayed, “I in them, and You in Me, that they may be perfected in one.” That was not wishful thinking. That was a declaration of what the cross would accomplish.

Here is something most believers have never stopped to consider: every prayer Jesus ever prayed was answered. He always prayed according to the will of the Father. So when Jesus prayed that you would be one with Him, the way He is one with the Father, that prayer was answered. Your oneness with God is not a future hope. It is a finished reality.

How are you permanently joined to the Holy Spirit?

Romans 8:11 says the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you. Not visits you. Not helps you from a distance. Lives in you. You are the dwelling place of resurrection power.

Think of it like a branch and the vine. The branch does not strive to stay connected to the vine. It simply is. It does not visit the vine on Sundays and feel disconnected in traffic. It is permanently joined. That is you, joined to the Lord. The connection is not something you maintain. It is something you were made into.

What changes when you live from oneness instead of chasing it?

You do not drift out of oneness when you forget about it. You simply lose awareness of what is already true. The moment you wake up to it again, nothing actually changed. Your awareness did.

When you stop chasing God’s presence and start walking from oneness, everything shifts. You stop performing for approval. You stop measuring your connection to God by your consistency. You begin to walk with the Father instead of running toward Him. This is the life Jesus secured for you.
